This interactive workshop focuses on awareness of gender identity issues in the workplace. This is a fast-developing area of employment law that is fraught with potential sensitivities and difficult balances to reach.
The programme will reflect on the Gender Recognition Act 2004, gender reassignment under the Equality Act 2010, and the impact of the For Women Scotland Ltd Supreme Court ruling and the definition of a biological woman, man and sex. We will also cover protection for non-binary/gender-fluid individual, supporting trans, non-binary and gender fluid staff, balancing protected characteristics, and understanding gender critical beliefs.
